Distribution Asset Protection Manager

Position Summary:
Manage/develop asset protection programs related to the distribution center (DC) and maintain compliance with the Kroger Logistics Asset Protection Policy manual. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Partner with DC management to assist in the successful execution of the business plan.
- Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of all division and corporate related asset protection programs and strategies.
- Analyze/maintain security needs and deploy resources as appropriate (e.g., uniformed guards, closed circuit television (CCTV), alarms, etc.).
- Serve as the single point of contact for all asset protection related needs (e.g., training, investigations, asset protection equipment needs and repairs, security officers, etc.).
- Coordinate security functions at the facility.
- Minimize the company’s exposure to civil liability.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Conduct internal/external investigations.
- Conduct Logistics department asset protection reviews and partner with management to identify/remedy potential deficiencies.
- Complete thorough reports on all asset protection related activities.
- Oversee contract guard service selection and performance.
- Oversee the selection of physical security vendors and the installation of equipment.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and represent the company’s interest with local, state and federal law enforcement.
- Conduct asset protection training for associates and management.
- Provide credible testimony in hearings and court actions.
- Show proficiency in gate operations (in/out bound traffic).
- Integrate asset protection into facility goals and objectives.
- Maintain flexibility to receive calls after hours and on weekends.

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 18 years of age
- 2 years of asset prevention experience
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi task and handle diverse situations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with little oversight and demonstrate strong independent judgement
- High degree of initiative and motivation
- Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state/federal laws
- Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
- Working knowledge of CCTV, alarm, access control and locking systems
- Wicklander certification
Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) certification
- Logistics asset protection experience
