Under general supervision of the Manager- Inventory Management, the Product & Content Specialist I is responsible for creating and researching critical data elements within the ROi and Mercy tool suite. Assists with data management and content audits. Participates in ensuring that the supply chain systems content is accurate, timely, actionable, as well as clinically acceptable. The supply chain consists of systems that support the ordering, distribution, conversion and consumption of Medical Surgical products, but is also considerate of downstream systems impact. ROi's ability to effectively manage supply chain operations is dependent on reliable and consistent data content. Maintaining a high standard of data integrity is crucial to the success of this role SC System Data Integrity- Ensuring supply chain systems data integrity and accuracy by providing support for supply chain systems data content, with special emphasis on product content. Aspects of this will include:
a. Leveraging all available systems, tools and resources to inform decisions in optimization of the content made available within the supply chain tools suite,
b. Assisting in the identification of new approaches and sources for content research and documenting those sources,
c. Creating and, researching, critical data elements within the supply chain tool suite. Assist with data management and content audits to review and verify that systems content is accurate,
d. Working with reporting and modeling experts to assist in the design and setup of system and data driven audits of system content, both within the system and between systems'; Sets-up and conducts moderately complex auditst.
e. Working with manufacturers, distributors, and industry contacts to correct and improve supply chain content,
Customer Service- Utilize exceptional customer service skills to seek out customer feedback and build consensus on end user expectations and data integrity standards, which includes:
a. Working with key clinical and operations stakeholders to achieve mutually agreed upon data management processes, assist in establishing enterprise accepted data standards, and assist in training to ensure best practices are being applied consistently,
b. Participating in managing expectations of customers, vendors, IT staff and other member's staff's around projects and issue resolution.
Project Management- Utilize project management principles to assist with managing multiple projects and reports through well executed communication, timely progress updates and appropriate management of stakeholder/customer expectations, which includes:
a. Understanding and appropriately utilizing project management tools to coordinate effective resource deployment, facilitate project task visibility and complete projects in a timely fashion,
b. Interacting with customers in a professional, customer first manner applying professional issue resolution skills and remaining ever cognizant of the voice of the customer, and
c. Assist in proactive project management through the execution of regular and informative communications to ensure project success and agreed upon outcomes.
Application Support- Assists with day to day maintenance and management of content being created within MMIS systems, which includes
a. Being accountable for the set-up and the ongoing maintenance of all content being created within the supply chain tools suite,
b. Monitoring data integrity based on established parameters and taking appropriate steps to achieve exceptional data integrity, timely data input, and meet expected service levels,
c. Performing all necessary data manipulation required to incorporate other systems data into Materials Management Information Systems, and
d Being able to download information into Microsoft Access and Excel to prepare for loading into supply chain tools
Product Conversions- Provides day to day support which includes
a. Working with suppliers, end users, and customers to ensure data being built in the supply chain tool suite is being built correctly, appropriately and strategically to support current and future initiatives,
b. Proactively seeking out customer feedback to ensure project information and system content meets its originally established business purpose, and
c. Communicating with all customers in a timely and respectful fashion to ensure everyone is aware of any impactful content changes or conversion activities prior to the activity being implemented.
Other Duties- This position will perform other duties as assigned by their direct leader.
a. Generating system reports as requested by management or leadership
b. Providing support and statistical information, or

Experience: Three or more years experience in a clinical or health care supply chain setting, plus extensive knowledge of clinical products and how they are used.
Other: The ideal candidate for this job would have experience in a clinical or materials setting, ideally an operating room or central stores, and have extensive knowledge of all manner of products both in what the product is and what it would be used for. In addition, the candidate needs to have some skills with regard to Microsoft products, such as Excel. Additional experience in the area of Lawson, managing data structures, tables, etc would be ideal. • Basic knowledge of material and resource management accepted practices and how the materials management information system functions to meet these practices. • Analytic minded person with the ability to provide high level technical support and problem resolution to field team members. • Must be available to travel 5% to ROi member facilities • Must have strong communication skills (written, oral and compassionate human relation skills) with the ability to communicate in a manner that puts non-technical, non-clinical staff at ease. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups • Excellent team player. • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information. • Strong issue resolution skills and ability to effectively handle conflict • Must be able to manage multiple, simple to moderately complex projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. • Knowledge of spread sheets, data development, and word document applications. • Will be expected to support and / or be knowledgeable of the following IT Applications: o Data-cleansing Software o Lawson o Tecsys o E-catalog software o Contract Management software. o Omnicell o Multiple Interfaces to different financial and clinical systems.
